At The Odd Shop (Ajeck Systems Limited), we are committed to safeguarding your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its 13 Information Privacy Principles (IPPs).

We collect personal information necessary to craft and deliver your bespoke orders:

Contact Information: Your full name, email address, and phone number.
Delivery Details: Physical New Zealand street address, suburb, town/city, postcode, and rural courier delivery indicators.
Personalisation Data: Names, birthdates, wedding dates, family crests, monograms, or custom vectors you provide for engraving or 3D printing.
Technical Data: IP address, device telemetry, browser type, and cookie identifiers used for passwordless login sessions and CSRF protection.

2Why We Collect Your Information

We strictly use your information for the following purposes:

Laser engraving, UV printing, and 3D manufacturing right here in Auckland.

Dispatching parcels via CourierPost / NZ Post with real-time tracking updates.

Fulfilling NZ Inland Revenue compliance with formal 15% GST tax receipts.

Passwordless email OTP authentication and brute-force lockout defenses.

3Payment Security & Third-Party Processors

We do not store your complete credit or debit card numbers on our servers. Payment processing is delegated to Stripe Inc., an audited PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant service provider. Stripe processes card details through encrypted tokenization and complies with 3D-Secure 2.0 fraud standards.

For manual bank transfers, transaction reconciliation occurs using human-readable reference codes (e.g. TOS-1001-BK) verified against our secure New Zealand business bank account (AJECK SYSTEMS LIMITED).

4Information Storage & Data Retention

Your personal data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256. Order history and customization records are retained for seven (7) years in accordance with New Zealand statutory tax requirements. Uploaded design assets and preview renders are archived securely and never shared or sold to external marketing agencies.

5Your Rights (Access & Correction)

Under Principles 6 and 7 of the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to request access to any personal information we hold about you and to request that we correct any inaccurate details.
